Whats the difference between a large gem and a cut gem? If they're different, how do you get one over the other, and is one more valuable or useful?

A cut gem is used in gem setting. A large gem is a trade good with no other uses. Bouchart 22:11, 4 March 2008 (EST)

when a jeweler makes an artifact large gem it has the reverse effect, but since all other large gems get a quality modifier-its vastly important to get high skill.
